Is the ‘Blue Wave’ Washing Away the Left’s Chances?

Andrew Gillum

The mainstream media and political left appear to be right about the “Blue Wave.” Since the election of President Trump, the left has become energized like never before, but after a slew of primary elections across the country, it is clear the blue wave crashed early. The results of primaries this year should scare the Democrat Party because the candidates being put forth by their base are to the left of Stalin. It is now more likely the extreme positions of the new candidates will turn the moderates towards the GOP, or they will simply stay home.

Most of the new candidates are preaching messages that destroyed Venezuela and fundamentally most Americans disagree with on a basic level. Florida is one of the most pro-Second Amendment states in the nation, and the new Democrat candidate for Governor, Andrew Gillum, is challenging that. While mayor of Tallahassee, Gillum used the power of government to restrict basic constitutional rights of its citizens. Not surprisingly, his efforts have made the city the most dangerous in Florida.

Gillum also has an abominable economic platform. The U.S. is in the middle of an economic surge, thanks to tax cuts and deregulation, and Gillum is specifically campaigning against it. Gillum wants to institute more job-killing regulations while at the same time raise taxes. Nothing will kill an economy more than Gillum’s plan. Florida has a booming economy, with people from overregulated and overtaxed states in the northeast moving in each day. Yet, Gillum’s message is to kill that economy?

Because Gillum will be at the top of the Florida ticket in November, every Democrat must now answer the questions, “are you going to raise my taxes, and are you going to take away my 2nd Amendment rights, because the guy you’re campaigning with wants to do both?” The entire down ballot ticket will now suffer because the left nominated someone campaigning with socialists.

It doesn’t just stop in Florida. If you listen to the media, my home state of Texas is going to have a tight race for Senate between the incumbent, Republican Ted Cruz, and the challenger Beto O’Rourke. Unfortunately, the media is not paying attention to the platforms of the Senator and his challenger.

O’Rourke is running on an anti Second Amendment, pro-tax, and open borders platform. All three of which are extremely unpopular in Texas. Even in some liberal cities, like Houston and Dallas, politicians know not to touch the Second Amendment. A majority of Texans favored putting the National Guard on the southern border. The tax question is ridiculous from one of the few states that refuse to institute a state income tax.

The top of the Texas ticket will have two of the most popular Texans in recent memory. Governor Greg Abbott is running away with his election, and despite what the media vomits up, Cruz is immensely popular in the state. With these two at the top of the ticket, it is more likely the closer House races will be helped.

The final piece of evidence to show there is no blue wave is turnout. Yes the left is energized, and they are turning out in record numbers, but the Republicans are turning out also. In the much talked about Florida election, over 100,000 more people voted in the Republican primary than the Democrat primary. In Texas, over 500,000 more GOP voters showed up than Democrats. It fared no better for the left in Arizona with more than 110,000 more Republicans showing up. Between these three states, the Democrats hoped to flip six seats. It is quite hard to flip seats when more Republicans show up than Democrats.

Don’t be fooled by the mainstream media. The blue wave is coming, but it is going to crash on the heads of more Democrats than Republicans. However, it is still important to vote. The left has made its position known. It is going to destroy the sovereignty of the U.S. by opening the borders. It is going to eliminate the 2nd Amendment. They want to raise taxes while regulating people out of jobs. And finally, they want to put everyone under the oppressive thumb of a strong China style government.

Trump’s slogan was “Make America great again,” and the left appears to be running on “Make America Venezuela.”
